Pixelate an image or selected area

Apply adjustable mosaic blocks to a face, label, address, or other rectangular area, or pixelate the complete image. The source stays on this device.

How it works

01

Choose an image

Open a JPG, PNG, or WebP image from your device.

02

Set the pixelated area

Use the centered or full-image preset, or enter an exact rectangular area and choose the mosaic block size.

03

Review and download

Inspect the flattened result carefully, then save a fresh local copy.

What stays private here

  • The source image is decoded in this browser tab.
  • Canvas creates the output file on this device.
  • No source image or output image is sent to Peelaway.
  • Nothing from this utility is added to your Peelaway account.

Questions about this tool

Can I pixelate only part of a photo?

Yes. Enter the left and top offsets plus the width and height of the rectangle to pixelate. The complete area must stay inside the source image.

Is pixelation secure redaction?

No. Pixelation is visual obfuscation, not guaranteed deletion. Small blocks, surrounding context, or reconstruction methods may expose details. For secrets, crop the content out or cover it with an opaque block in a suitable editor and inspect the exported pixels before sharing.

Is my image uploaded to pixelate it?

No. The browser applies the mosaic and creates the download locally. Neither the source nor the output image is sent to Peelaway by this utility.
