Which image metadata does this remove?
The fresh browser export does not copy common source EXIF, GPS, camera, timestamp, IPTC, or XMP blocks. It is a new encoded image rather than an edited original file.
Does removing metadata preserve the exact original bytes?
No. This privacy-first method re-encodes the displayed pixels, so JPEG or WebP output can differ slightly and color-profile data may not be preserved. Choose PNG when avoiding another lossy encoding pass matters most.
Does Peelaway inspect or upload the metadata?
No. The source is decoded and the fresh copy is created locally in the browser. Peelaway does not receive the image or its embedded metadata.
