Add a text watermark to an image
Place a name, copyright notice, or usage label in one of nine positions, then export a fresh copy locally without sending the source image or watermark text to Peelaway.
How it works
Choose an image
Open a JPG, PNG, or WebP image from your device.
Style the watermark
Enter text, choose one of nine positions, and adjust its relative size, color, and opacity.
Preview and download
Review the flattened watermark and save a new JPG, PNG, or WebP copy.
What stays private here
- The source image is decoded in this browser tab.
- Canvas creates the output file on this device.
- No source image or output image is sent to Peelaway.
- Nothing from this utility is added to your Peelaway account.
Questions about this tool
Can I choose where the watermark appears?
Yes. Choose a corner, edge center, or the image center. Peelaway keeps a proportional margin so the text remains inside the output.
Can someone remove a visible watermark?
A visible watermark can discourage casual reuse and communicate ownership, but it is not tamper-proof. Cropping, retouching, or generative editing may remove it, so keep your original file and use other protections when the risk is high.
Are the image and watermark text uploaded?
No. The browser draws the text onto a local canvas and creates the output on this device. Peelaway does not receive the source image, output image, or watermark text.
