Questions about this tool
Does converting JPG to PNG improve image quality?
No. PNG avoids adding another lossy JPEG pass, but it cannot restore detail that was already discarded when the source JPEG was created.
Will the PNG have a transparent background?
No. A JPEG has no transparency data, so converting its format does not remove the background. Use an image-editing workflow when you need to create transparency.
Is my JPG uploaded?
No. The conversion runs locally in the current browser tab and does not send the source image to Peelaway's servers.
